General

Serene House is a 5-minute walk to the enchanting Watamu beach. It is located in Watamu along Jacaranda road and provides the perfect coastal escape surrounded by lush gardens and calming sea breeze.

We have a large 3 bedroom villa and 2 one bedroom villas all en-suite with kitchens.

Serene House is a 5-minute walk to the enchanting Watamu beach. It is located in Watamu along Jacaranda road.
It consists of a large 3 bedroom villa and 2 single bedroom villas each ensuite with kitchens all of Swahili architecture and furniture.. The main villa sleeps 6 to 8 people (see our other listing: Serene House in Watamu) and the smaller villas sleep 2 each.
Our lush palm garden provides the perfect environment for guests to forget their worries and indulge in the peaceful coastal life. Common spaces include a large pool, a gazebo and a garden.
We offer laundry and full time housekeeping services. A chef is available (at an extra fee). Guests, however, have to make arrangements for their own food supplies. We provide full time security.
Watamu village is 3 kilometres away from the villa and easily accessible by tuk tuk (the local means of transport) or taxi which our staff can help access. Malindi town is 20 kilometres away and provides an urban center with various facilities. Other activities may include a visit to the Gedi National Monument and snake park, Kipepeo Butterfly Farm, the Bioken Snake Farm, and a swim with colourful fish and dolphins at the Marine Park among others.

Sports & nature

The Malindi marine national park is both a fun and educational place to visit because you get to enjoy a variety of sea life including colourful fish and turtles. Adults as well as children can feel as one with the fish through sports such as glass boat rides and scuba diving.  Also available is the Arabuko Sokoke forest reserve which harbours over 200 bird species. If you are one to enjoy tradition and culture, close to the forest you find the Gede ruins and museum where you get to learn about the ancient Swahili town and the various antique art, design and furniture. Present also, are historical monuments such as the Vasco da Gamma pillar and Portuguese chapel.

There are plenty of hotels, resorts and restaurants to choose from. Not forgetting a casino and a few night clubs for those who enjoy the nightlife.
